Coping with extreme weather

Extreme weather conditions have become an all too common part of life in Britain these days. Storms, flood and freezing conditions can have a devastating effect on our homes and other property. We can’t control the weather but we can take precautions to lessen its impact.

In the guides below we've provided tips and advice on some safety measures you can take to reduce potential damage on the road, in your home and how to prepare your business.

According to the Environment Agency, over five million people in England and Wales live and work in properties that are at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea.

Freezing conditions

Thousands of people suffer from burst pipes each winter and plummeting temperatures are the biggest cause. Make sure you take the right precautions.

Storm brings more than travel chaos; it can still cause expensive damage to your home leaving homes without power and water. How would you cope?
